Tritons

Tritons are overall very bulky, and due to their beauty, very arrogant and vain about their appearance. Their temper is short, often leading to fights for small reasons and trifles.

 

 

Sirens

Sirens are similar to mermaids. Upper body of a woman or man, and lower body of a fish, they are beautiful, serpentine in appearance, and wilder than mermaids or mermen, this "wildness" achieving drastic levels as their hunger increases. All sirens are affected with Sirenum, the disease that makes them blood thirsty. They can be born with it or infected through a bite.

 

Mermen

Mermen come in all colors, shapes and sizes. They are more slender than the tritons, and their temper doesn't give them problems, given they are very calm creatures and can ponder on important matters.

 

 

Mermaids

Mermaids look like a human woman from the hips to the head, and from the hips down, a fish. They come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and origins. They are naturaly beautiful, and love to decorate their bodies with beautiful things they find in the waters.

 

Selkies

A selkie is a seal in the water but a man or woman on land. The selkie rises from the water in foam and spray, takes off its seal skin, throws it aside on the rocks, and dances around mystic fires on the shore. If their seal skin has been stolen, a selkie can never return back to the ocean, and becomes a prisoner.
 

 

Octomer

Octomer have the torso of a human with the tentacles of an octopus, and they can alter their colors, usually in defense to use their surroundings as camoflage.

 

 

Dolphinmer

Dolphinmer have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a dolphin. They are agile in the water and playful. 

 

Sharkmer

Sharkmer have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a shark. They can pick up the scent of blood and several other scents much better than anything else, the scent being their primary sense. 

 

Orcans

Orcans have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a killer whale, or orca. They cannot move as fast as other merfolk due to their weight, but they can hold their breath for quite some time, their voice having a wide range of projection.
