Dragons
Lokanhiim, once thriving with dragons went silent long ago when all of Cirra'Liel fell to a great slumber. With a crown placed, its residents awoke and cry out for their kin in dragonsong!
The time has come to restore the floating isle to it's former glory. Will you take your place as its resident, its sword and claw, or perhaps be its caring touch?

Culture
The most revered and ancient of races, dragons were once gods and goddesses of Cirra'Liel; as Lokanhiim was atop a floating Isle, the humans believed that they came from the heavens above and would pay tribute to them. Now that most of the inhabitants are gone, dragons spend most of their time on the Isle hoarding gold, resting, honing skills, collecting knowledge, and living their days in peace.
Dragons are known to be skilled at finding and refining precious metals and crystals, as well as the keepers of great knowledge. Language, world history, and magical arts are a small sampling of the things dragons like to learn. Some will use this knowledge and their skill to weasel riches and favors out of unwitting bipeds through games, riddles, and tricks. And some will be content to share freely if flattered or given tribute.
Most are meat eaters and like to consume anything from bipeds (humans, elves, sentient beings) to large game (bears, deer, wild boar). However, there are some who are herbivores and others who eat rocks. Diet and needs vary as much as the shape and color of dragons themselves.
Ritual and celebration is a part of life, from the union of pairs, the coming of age, and the presenting of new hatchlings. All new residents of Lokanhiim undergo a ritual of joining the kindred. New hatchlings (or children in the event of mixed-parentage) will take the ritual upon coming of age just before their celebration. The ritual ensures that the new individual has read and understand the laws, and is pledging themselves to upholding them.
Language
While most speak common nowadays, a few hushed words of draconic can be heard uttered amongst themselves or when speaking in secret. Though the more ancient ones are said to speak their tongue more than common.
Draconic (sometimes called dragonic) is an ancient language, with many words thought to be unpronounceable by human tongues. Its vocabulary is vast, and most humans will never truly master its grammar it before they pass on. More complex still is the fact there have been multiple recorded dialects, depending on from where the dragon hails.
Similarly, the written form is just as complex, consisting of a series of runes occasionally intermixed with pictographs. This written language is considered both easier and more difficult by scholars, being that the individual strokes can carry different meanings depending on thickness, placement, as well as its shape.
Applying Dragons
* Here in Cirra'Liel, the dragon lore is open. We do not specifically require you to adhere to D&D standards; you can be a D&D dragon, a WoW dragon, an Eragon dragon, or any other kind provided you adequately explain how they came to Cirra'Liel. Simply, dragons are dragons, who have either lived here their entire lives or flown in from other lands. Regardless of the lore you use, you are asked to adapt it to suit the sim, and that includes balancing your strengths and weaknesses and respecting the active story.
* Dragons of all ages and sizes are permitted, within reason. You may roleplay a hatchling, up to an ancient. However, please be considerate of the size of your avatar and those around you and how much lag it may cause. If it is causing issues, you may be asked to use a smaller one. Keep this in mind when filling out your application. Of the common avatars, Grendel Avarian, Dreamcrawler, and Seawolf Adult avatars are readily accepted.
* There is no interspecies fighting between Chromatic and Metallic dragons; all who live in Lokanhiim are at a state of peace with one another as is required by law. Anyone who wishes to play a dragon who holds a special hatred or racism against another kind of dragon may do so, but must be prepared to either suffer IC consequences if such impulses are acted upon, or simply be a loner.
* Typical dragon abilities include one breath weapon, and the ability to change into humanoid or bipedal form. Typical weaknesses include the opposite element of the breath weapon and dragonsbane.
* All alignments are welcome provided they exist peacefully among one another. Acts of evil are typically asked to be directed upon whichever kingdom Lokanhiim might be at war with.
* Those who do choose to live in the dragon kingdom, will inherit the protections and amenities thereof. That includes a place to sleep, eat, saftey from prying eyes, and a group at your back if problems arise.
* Dragons are not required to join Lokanhiim. If you find you fit in better elsewhere, by all means, let the roleplay dictate your loyalties!
* You do not have to be a dragon to join Lokanhiim. But, you must pledge fealty just like dragons do.
* There is a Joining Ritual so your arrival can be given some fun hoopla. It is not mandatory to join the group but if you do not roleplay it, it is still assumed to have happened. ALL INDIVIDUALS of Lokanhiim are bound by the laws as if they took this oath.
Common NPCS
* The grounds are kept by elder dragons who walk around in bi-ped form. They also do much of the cooking and cleaning. With their advanced age, they are content to this and their studies and usually will not get involved in anything.
* Guards: guards are present almost everywhere, but most especially in the commons, great hall, and armory. They are also bipedal or humanoid formed dragons in armor, with pikes and shields. They WILL intervene during fighting or attempts to break laws.
* Celador: this is a horse-sized bronze dragon. He often acts as chauffeur for our non-dragon Jahin. He is friendly but quiet, and usually prefers to drop and pick up without getting involved in a scene.
